In an article by Cosmetics Design, an online magazine on cosmetic manufacturers, non-GMO cosmetics are being formulated and should be the next big hit. Products marketed will have soy, quinoa, as preservative-free or vegan. Consumers are willing to pay more for cosmetics with these ingredients. Wait, I thought 90% of soy grown in the U.S. was GMO (did I miss something?)! How will they guarantee us that cosmetics manufactured in the U.S. that have soy as an ingredient is made with non-GMO soy (hum!)? Pundits are estimating that sales from non-GMO cosmetics exceeded $10 billion last year and is expected to go through the roof in 2015.
Should we really jump on the bandwagon with this or is this just another gimmick to help you part with your money?
