For those of you who use or sell Dermalogica and Murad, these companies have been acquired by Unilever. Unilever has more than 400 brands, some of which are Dove, Knorr, Hellmann’s, Lipton and Ben & Jerry.
According the June 24, 2015 news release, Jane and Raymond Wurwand will still be a part of Dermalogica, but the acquisition will provide Dermalogica with opportunities and resources to expand the product line worldwide. Dermalogica is currently sold in over 80 countries and had over $240 million in sales in 2014.
On July 2, 2015, Unilever announced it acquired Murad, the clinical skin care line developed by Dr. Howard Murad. Murad is sold in over 42 countries and sold in specialty retail stores such as Sephora, Ulta, Nordstrom and carried in Massage Envy spas. Like the Wurwands, Dr. Murad will continue to work with Unilever to continue to expand the product line. At the end of 2014, Murad had over $115 million in sales.
Don’t be surprised if one day you will see these products in your local drug or grocery store alongside other skin care products!
